When unpacking the watch faces, it is advisable to immediately select the correct watch model, otherwise the colors may be distorted.

It is desirable to create a new project in a separate folder. Image names do not have to consist only of numbers, you can add short prefixes (for example, date_01, time_01).
Watch faces created in the editor and on Huami's website should unpack normally. Watch faces from Zepp and those created based on them will not be unpacked.
In a set of images for displaying one parameter (for example, images for displaying the day of the week), all images should preferably be the same size. If the size of the images is different, then the first image in the set should be the largest.

All new features in this and next release will be tested on the GTR4 and may not work on other models.

Hi @SashaCX75 -

I'm probably just missing something, but can't figure out how to create the watchface folder structure from your watchface editor app. Especially the creation of index.js that is put under watchface\gts-3 for example.

@toolsrme There is no need to create any folder structure in the editor. There is a button in the editor to create a new project. You only need to select an empty folder for it. Then add the necessary images to the project and use them to create the necessary vidgets. When creating a watch face, the editor will add all necessary files and folders by itself.

@SashaCX75 how do you make custom changes to the index.js then?

I tried packing and unpacking but that didn't seem to help.

There are two ways. You can change the file in the ready watch face. You can add "JS script" widget to the project and in it you can partially control adding code to the ready watch face.

Thanks SashaCX75. I'm using version 10.0. Where do I add in a JS Script widget? Any basic examples of this anywhere?

Trying to modify what the shortcuts do and also control the AOD/idle display.

You can add a js script widget in the System section.

The editor does not check the correctness of the code in the script and does not edit it. It just takes the text and inserts it into the watch face code.

I was looking for a tutorial too, but I can't find it on YouTube or elsewhere. It would help al lot of people who want to support the community too by making watch faces with the tool from @SashaCX75

@SashaCX75 Thank you so much for this tool. I'm working on a couple of watchfaces and love how much easier it is than the online Zepp watchface editor.

I'm trying to figure out a way to show or hide the analog clock by tapping somewhere on the screen. Saw it in a couple of watchfaces on this site, but I can't figure out how to do that. Could you point me in the right direction?

@pixelator99 Additional functions are easier to make not in the editor but to add to the code of the ready dial. An invisible button is made to change the visibility of analogue hands by pressing it. It is also necessary to save the visibility settings in memory.

I too saw that feature in a couple of WF's so I put it on mine and while it is working, not 100% sure it's correct. When you say save setting in memory, are you referring to setting a variable in the index.js page, or is there some system type command to save something in memory?

It is necessary to save the setting if you want to save the settings when switching watch faces. It is also required if you want to change settings related to the AOD screen. In other cases it is not necessary. To save a setting, you usually use something like this

Code: Select all

hmFS.SysProSetInt('js_test_int', 100)
You can read in the documentation how to use this function correctly and how to read the data afterwards

Perfect. Thanks SashaCX75. I was wanting to do just that for the AOD screen from the normal screen, but hadn't figure it out yet.

Thanks, @SashaCX75. I'm not much of a programmer, but I'll take a look.

How do I edit the code? Edit the JSON file that gets generated when I pack the watchface? I see the older versions of your editor used to have a pane with the code, but I can't find it in the current version.

@pixelator99 You need to edit the index.js file in the ready watch face. And of course for this you need at least minimal knowledge of JavaScript.

By any chance, can I add the shortcut below in the next version?
Settings_batteryManagerScreen.
Settings_standbyModelScreen.
ScheduleCalScreen.

@SashaCX75

Checked out the code examples that you list in the top post: Сollection of code examples for use in watch faces.

Specifically was wondering about the smooth scrolling second hand. I have a T-Rex 2 and the GTR3 code doesn't do anything. GTR4 code works, but like you said, it's not really to smooth. So thinking smooth rotation basically requires animation, but can't get animation to do rotation on my T-Rex 2. Of course I can't find anything in any documentation about anim_key: "angle". Nor doing a google search really.

The only thing is that @ZduneX25 has got a pretty cool WF at Amazfit Echo that actually works on my T-Rex 2 and is pretty smooth.

So I was just wondering if I'm missing something, in hopes that I can get to work on my device.

There is a smooth second hand function in the editor. I recommend trying Type 4.

Thanks @SashaCX75.

I see that in the 10.2 version of the app. I was able to put it all together, but I have a question where I'm probably doing something simple wrong. After using your tool to pack the face, I put it in a directory and unzip it so that I can run "zeus dev" and have it show in the simulator, but it gives me the following error:

error Please set at least one package.

I can see that the apps.json is a little different in that it doesn't have the same JSON structure as what zeus create builds, but contains the same data. Is there a trick to getting the output to work with ZEUS CLI?

Zeus creates a project for its further compilation. The editor creates a project for direct work on the clock. Therefore their structure is different. Even if you create a project in Zeus and then compile it, the structure of the source and destination files will be slightly different.

That's why it is probably better to create an empty project in Zeus. And then copy the necessary data from the ready dial into it in separate blocks.
