Watchfaces and date format

Post by tigger6333 »

I humbly request that authors of watchfaces allow the date format in their display to be user defined.
I have found some awesome watchfaces for my bip 3 but the format of mm dd yyyy is not the standard format here in Australia ( dd mm yyyy) so I find it difficult to read accurately.

Thank you for reading.
Kind Regards

Of course the same problem exists in reverse for U.S. users. Designs that use alpha month instead of num solve this pretty well (though that introduces language dependency), but perhaps a better solution is skip the month altogether, just show the date (I remember mainstream mechanical/analog watches often did this to reduce complications). I'm using a watchface now that made this choice and it's pretty clean - making time and date larger is a better use of screen real estate. Designs that take this path don't have to worry about mm/dd vs. dd/mm, and I'll be considering that in my own next efforts.

In reality, there is a problem whereby it is impossible to do what you ask for. In order to allow the user of a smart watch of any of the Amazfit Bip models to change the date display system, it is necessary for these Amazfit models to can use editable elements.

What are editable elements?

The editable elements in Amazfit smart watches are those that allow the user to interact with the elements of the smart watch screen, for example creating elements that are shortcuts to other screens, being able to change the colors of some elements or the background by simply doing click on the screen.

Amazfit offers two types of smart watches, those that are based on the Zepp operating system and those that are not, those models based on the Zepp operating system are the most complete and the ones that give us developers the most options, for example adding editable elements , those that are not based on the Zepp operating system are simpler and cannot add editable elements in any way, the Amazfit Bip series models are not based on the Zepp operating system.

The most viable option that I see is the one commented by colleague @Vike , not using the month when adding the date in the design would avoid this type of inevitable design errors.

I hope I have expressed myself well, I apologize for my English.
