MiBandWFTool

Tool Description
1. The tool is based on a modified version of AmazfitBipTools, thanks to the original open source .
2. The tool supports unpacking, packing of the official watch face bin file.
3. Mi band 4 supports 16,581,375 colors.
4. Mi band 5 supports 15,499,008 colors.

How to
1. Unzip MiBandWFTool_X.X.zip.
2. Download .bin file from catalog or get standard watchface file.
3. Drag the .bin file to WatchFace.exe (in step 1. , get the decompressed file)
(if there is only one log file, the decompression failed).

4. There are two ways to modify the dial.
  • is to modify the corresponding image file and replace it with what we want.
  • is to modify the corresponding json file and modify the position of the image.
5. After all the modifications are completed, drag the modified json into WatchFace.exe in step 1 to get the corresponding bin file
(the file name depends on the name of the bin. If the .bin file is not generated, the package is wrong)

6. Copy the newly generated bin file to the corresponding directory of the mobile phone, and the synchronization will be completed. (This step is not very clear, you can refer to the original tutorial) above, you're done!

Thanks, I love how this tool just works!

Now I'm working on a custom watchface with a lot of segments and it doesn't work for some reason. The tool isn't giving any errors and generates all the assets as expected. It just isn't working on the Mi Band 5 for me. :roll:

I don't know if this might be an error on my side, the tool's site or with the Mi Band 5.

Is there a limit of how many segments I can use?
The problems exist in the BatteryIcon, HeartProgress and StepsProgress.

I hope someone can have a look at this.

I attached the bin file, you can unpack it with the MiBandWFTool for Mi Band 5.

hi, perharps the problem comes from the size of your file .bin.
The maximum size of the file must be under about( 600kb, I think).
If it is the case you have 2 choices:
decrease the number of pictures.
or decrease the number of colors, you can do it with the config file .
In the readme.txt:
"UsePaletteMode = 1
- can be used if images having <=255 colors.
- uses picture palette, in some cases could reduce pack weight.
- create file image.cfg with content 1,4,2,5,66 (near .json) to inverse image writing mode for selected image IDs
- will compress images if it's not fitting in 255 color palette
UsePaletteMode = 0
- can provide more quality for image.
- normally working with 24&16bit images, raw look. Can greatly increase the size of the build."
Have a good day
Sorry for my english, i am french and it well known that froggers don't speak other languages!

Hey lvpokka,

I'm creating a watchface with a lot of statistics and it came to my attention that I can create a Time without TimeDelimiterImage but I can't create a TimeZone1 or TimeZone2 without TimeZone1DelimiterImage or TimeZone2DelimiterImage. Is it possible to update the app so I don't need a delimiter image? Or doesn't the watchface work without it? I'd like to show TimeZone1 and TimeZone2 just like time: 1337 instead of 13 37 or 13:37, so without delimiter.

Well, it is what is is, thank you :)

I'm already using a 1px transparent image. But it will add "SpacingX + DelimiterImage + SpacingX", so the gap becomes pretty big.

Hello all. I'm brand new here and I created an account for the specific purpose of asking about sunrise and sunset times using this tool. I tried the search tool, but if there is something out there already answered, I couldn't find it.

Anyway, to understand sunrise and sunset time, I unpacked a couple of watch faces that show these times.

Here's an example created by DenisCro1: https://amazfitwatchfaces.com/mi-band-5/view/2179

So, I took a peek at the unpacked JSON and see that the sunrise and sunset are defined as TimeZone1 and TimeZone2. Using this knowledge, I did something similar, packed up my own face, and even got the handy preview gif I'm including below...
Spoiler
Image
When I synch that to my Mi Band 5, though, the time displays, but the rise and set are both blank.

Is there something I have to do to define what TimeZone1 and TimeZone2 are? I looked through the entirety of DenisCro1's unpacked JSON to no success.

Also, I looked at this documentation...

viewtopic.php?t=1192

...but it didn't seem to answer the question.

Thanks, all.

As stated in the anwers above your question. TimeZone1 and TimeZone2 won't work without "TimeZone1DelimiterImage" / "TimeZone2DelimiterImage".
I hope that answers your question. I know you don't want a delimiter, just as I, but there's nothing to do about it.

Code: Select all

    "TimeZone1": {
      "TopLeftX": 71,
      "TopLeftY": 29,
      "BottomRightX": 120,
      "BottomRightY": 42,
      "Alignment": "TopLeft",
      "SpacingX": 4,
      "SpacingY": 0,
      "ImageIndex": 60,
      "ImagesCount": 10,
    },
    "TimeZone1DelimiterImage": 409,
    "TimeZone2": {
      "TopLeftX": 5,
      "TopLeftY": 29,
      "BottomRightX": 54,
      "BottomRightY": 42,
      "Alignment": "TopLeft",
      "SpacingX": 4,
      "SpacingY": 0,
      "ImageIndex": 60,
      "ImagesCount": 10,
    },
    "TimeZone2DelimiterImage": 409,

I actually have a delimiter in there. It's a 1px wide blank space.

Hmm, did you also use all the above mentioned parameteres?
Maybe you can share your .bin so someone can take a look at it.

Some things don't work well together on these watchfaces (firmware bugs).

Some good news! I tinkered for about a dozen iterations, and finally got the TimeZone1 and TimeZone2 to work. I have no idea what I did that finally resolved it, but it's now working. Next trick, and this one would be really nice, is to get the UV index working. Currently, when I add the properties for UVIndex, the entirety of the Weather property breaks (doesn't display). In comparing UVIndex to Wind (which is working), I notice that the syntax is a bit different. Wind has "Wind{Text{data},ImageSuffixEn}" whereas UVIndex has "UVIndex{UV{Text{data},SuffixImageIndex}}". When I make UVIndex's syntax match Wind's, the packer throws an error, though. Anyway, if you'd be willing to take a peek, I'm including a Google Drive link. contrast3 (no UVI) works, contrast4 (with UVI) does not.

There was something with UV/Wind not working together with temperatures or something.

Hey everyone!

lvpokka thanks for creating an awesome tool. Any plans to add PAI Progress? I was trying to add a circular progress bar but it seems like only text PAI is supported.

I have searched for it in mi band 5 and 6 custom watchfaces but what I have found is only PAI in numbers not in a progress bar. Default mi band 6 watchface shows PAI progress.

Also, I have found that Amazfit X json supports that as “PaiProgress”. I suppose it's just wasn't added to your tool and maybe you have any plans to add it? That would be really great to have it :)
