Dual time zone watch face
Hi, is it possible to create a watch face with 2 digital time zone : GMT and GMT+5:30. If possible please make one. Thanks
Are you sure you need GMT and GMT+5:30? Not GMT and GMT+5:00 or GMT and GMT+6:00?
Hi Wichr, thanks for asking. My local time is UTC+5:30 and I need the UTC time as well. KLINHA has already made one watch face but it has digital local time and analog GMT. So wanted to know whether it's possible to have a watch face with both the times digital. Thank you.
Yes, its possible. The watch does not support that function natively, but as a workaround we could use double ciphers which display the targeted time zones at the same time. Even triple time zones or more are possible that way.
The downsides of that workaround are, that the targeted time zones need to be known at design time, and that we need to redesign and repack the wf in order to change them afterwards.
Do you have a wf in mind, that you would like to display multiple time zones?

Thank you Wichr, I don't have any WF preference. You can use one of your favourites. Local time (GMT+5:30) in analog and GMT in digital will be better I think. Thanks a lot for helping.
Displaying local time in analog and GMT in digital form is another faisible option. But I am not sure if I can help you further than that, because you did not yet mention what watch the wf is for, and I do only create wfs for GTR2 and GTS2e, which are the watches I have access to, for testing purposes.
Looks like you need a wf for the GTR 47mm, since this seems to be the watch targeted by KLINHA.
I do have access to the required toolset to create a wf for that watch, but I would deliver it without any warranty, because I do not have access to that watch for testing purposes. In addition, I really would like you to designate a wf design as template, because my choice would possibly really not fit your taste.

Hi Wichr, I want the WF for GTR2. I will share the WF after taking permission from the creator.
Hi Wichr, you can use the WF you have created. https://amazfitwatchfaces.com/gtr/view/17145.
Try to make the font yellow. Thanks in advance.

After rethinking on the subject I realized that you need to set your watch to GMT, if you want it to display the GMT on a digital face and the local time on an analog one, because the digital face can't be tricked to show an offset (see explanation below). But that would make your watch showing the wrong date between 00:00h and 05:30h.
The other way around (showing local time on a digital face and GMT on an analog face) would work with the watch set to GMT+5:30, because we can rotate the analog hands in any angle and direction without the watch noticing.
Explanation: Setting an offset won't work, because internally the watch uses a set of pairs of identical digits (one pair for the hours, one pair for the minutes and one pair for the seconds) and we cannot make the watch apply a different offset for each of the two digits of a pair.
Example: Let's say, we add an offset of 3, in an attempt to make the watch display 12:30 instead of 12:00 on the digital face. Then the clock would display 12:33, because it won't use different offsets for the two digits of the minutes pair. The same goes for the hours and seconds digits, of course.
To make it short, KLINHA adopted the only elegant solution for showing two time zones on one wf: Displaying the set time on the digital face and the offset on the analog one.
So, if your'e still interested, I'll add a variant of my wf with an offset of -5:30h on the analog face.
I'm sorry that I did not realize that earlier.

well... not yet. Please stand by, the hour hand needs a shift of about half an hour.
This time it's for real:

Hi Wichr. There is nothing to be sorry about. Thank you very much for sparing so much time to answer my request and providing an in-depth explanation. Really appreciate your time and effort.
Your'e welcome. This wasn't a big deal, really. The fact that you chose my wf reduced the effort a lot.
Btw, what was that request about yellow font? Isn't the original font yellowish enough? Or do you prefer an other temperature? Maybe more aggressive?

I think hands clock in AOD mode not correct

You're right. I forgot to apply the correction on the AOD screen. Will provide the correction on the AOD screen in a few minutes.
It's ok. The font change is no longer required as we are not using digital for GMT. With AOD no further changes required. It solved my purposewichr ha scritto: 23 ago 2021, 18:52Btw, what was that request about yellow font? Isn't the original font yellowish enough? Or do you prefer an other temperature? Well, I hope they are aware that this wf displays two different time zones. I have mentioned that in the description, but I think not everyone reads the description before they install the wf.
I rellay like the hands glowing red, like if they were extremely hot. That looks gorgeous and fits really good to the background. Thank you for that idea. I'll try to use that set of colors (but with a slightly more comic-style yellow) for my next wf.
