I've read somewhere, the miband5 firmware have a bug in the "seconds" that makes it wipeout all the other stats. I did the watchface without "seconds" and it works just fine.


That's right, unfortunately. There's an issue with the seconds and other information on the watchface.

No, weather does not work for the MB4.

Just click and drag the BIN file to unpack (or the JSON file to pack) over the tool (EXE file).

Actually I find the solution in contribution with @ilidio.martins.
There need to be three "Preview" parameter inside .json file that links to the preview image.

Yup, one for each language (EN, CN simplified, CN standard), just like with weekdays.

I modified a watchface. Everything seems to be OK and rendered as I expected on my Mi Band 5.
But, the preview image of my watchface shows a black blank preview in the "Band display" option.
Can somebody help me to identify the reason of this issue?

I'm not sure I know what you mean.
You can keep the BIN file size down by keeping down the size of the images that make the BIN file (low number of images and / or small size of images), if that's your question.

I'll answer you by DM.

Start by unpacking an existing watch face, so you can see the elements and explore the code on the JSON file.
Then create your own design, or edit the one you downloaded by changing the background image or image elements, like time numbers and weather icons.

Finally, check the X,Y position for the ...

Yup.

Sure. I know some people use Illustrator, or even paint. But I prefer to use Photoshop.

I don't know where to start to explain, better look for tutorial videos online.
You can create or edit images, make text and so on.

Sure you can, but I never tried it. He's got only an MB4 version, and won't be making an MB5 version for now.

Any builder that you use to make watchfaces ?

lvpokka's Mi Band 4 WF Tool (v1.4.2) and Mi Band 5 WF Tool (v2.1.5).
I saw he just released a v2.1.6 version but I didn't try it yet. I downloaded the ZIP file but Windows defender considered it malicious and removed it.

I use Photoshop. I make different layers for each element, so that I can move them around until I'm happy with the result.
Then I crop the canvas and hide layers to save the images for each individual elements (like numbers 0-9 and such). I work with images without background when possible, so I can ...

From what I've seen, the band only shows current temperature for a short time after opening the app on the phone, so that the phone app and the band synchronize. Android > data > com.xiaomi. hm.health > files > watch_skin_file > 59 > YOUR-WF-FOLDER
I reboot phone but mi band 5 doesn't see the custom watchface.


I download a watch face from the store, so that a folder with the BIN, PNG and XML files is created inside the '59 ...

The issue with the battery images not cycling seemed to be because I was using only 6 images (from other WFs I saw mostly 9 images).

I'm having some trouble with the Battery Indicator, It shows the full-charge icon, even though the battery on my MB5 is currently at 55%. Anyone else is having trouble with this?
