This is probably a dumb suggestion, but have you tried loading the BIP watchface onto your BIP S?
I know that BIP S watchfaces don't work on the BIP (don't even try it - it will brick your BIP!) , but I thought that BIP watchfaces work unchanged on a BIP S.

As far as I know, the BIP firmware and apps have no support for calculating sunrise/sunset times.
I use an app called "Golden Hour" which creates notifications at sunrise/sunset, or at a user-defined time before or after.

Re: Do custom watchfaces affect other screens?
I'm not certain if installing a bold font would help on the Activity screen,
but I do know that it affects the notification display and BIP menus (small text size).
If you're talking about the larger speed/distance/time displays, I don't think it will change them.

Re: Change Font Colour
You can't use the hours digits for the minutes because the author adjusts the hours digits position (and maybe size) to keep them centered for one or two digits.
However, you should be able to fill the minutes digits orange color with white to make them match the hours digits.

You simply open the mi fit app. go to online watch faces. and you will see it there
I would do that, but I don't use the MiFit app and I don't have it installed.

Re: Help wanted to make this watchface perfect
I downloaded the .BIN file and tried to open it with AmazfitBIPTools Watchface.exe program.
It had a fatal error and was unable to open it.
Can you give me a link to the description page or forum post that leads to the watchface?

If someone knows how to get the .BIN file for that watchface, I could take a look at the .JSON file and see if there's a clue as to how they managed to display miles.

Re: True 12hr (3/4 digit display)
The BIP firmware makes creating true 12-hour watchfaces harder than it should be.
You have to make a set of hours digit images that are 2 digits wide, with transparent portions that get overwritten.
Then you have to change the .json file to use the new images for the hours tens and units digits ...

As far as I know, there is no way to make the BIP backlight stay on constantly.
That would dramatically reduce battery life, but it would be handy in certain situations.

Eric

Hi CGB,
As far as I know, the BIP's firmware only reports distance in kilometers, not miles, regardless of the settings in the app, so I think you're stuck with KM.
I can offer some help with changing the date format to dd (top)/mm (bottom).
Give me a few days to make the change. Meanwhile, send ...

You may not be doing anything wrong.
Can you provide (or tell me where to download) the watchface bin file?
If so, I will try to extract it and see what happens.

Re: How frequently weather is updated in Bip watch?
I'm not certain what the weather update interval is with the standard MiFit app, but I think it's one hour.
I don't think there's any way to change it.
If you're on Android, the Notify & Fitness app allows you to set a longer interval, but nothing shorter than one hour.

I use MS Paint to fill the portions I want to make transparent with a solid color.
It doesn't matter which color, as long as it doesn't appear elsewhere in the image.
Since MS Paint doesn't save images with transparency, I open the image in my favorite image viewer/editor IrfanView.

Re: How to make a true 12h (12:00 mid night) bip watchface?
I have been using a modified version of the technique originally created by watchface developer SIR.
You have to make a set of hours digit images that are 2 digits wide, with transparent portions that get overwritten.
In the following, "_" is transparent.
0 "_2" <= Tens (2 images)
1 "10"
0 "1 ...
