La etapa más exitosa fue entre los años 1989 y 1991, cuando permaneció dos temporadas en Primera División tras coronarse campeón de la Primera B Nacional. Entre 2001 y 2010 la institución estuvo intervenida para evitar una quiebra. En 2013 logró el ascenso al Torneo Argentino A tras 13 años. También participa de la Liga Chaqueña de Fútbol.
