VR Jaeger auto-chronograph

„VR Jaeger auto-chronograph” to tarcza zegarkowa wzorowana na szwajcarskim, unikatowym i historycznym zegarku „Jaeger auto-chronograph”, wyprodukowanym w 1930 roku. To prawdziwa „perła” wśród klasycznego wzornictwa tarcz zegarkowych. Ta jej wersja została zaprojektowana przeze mnie dla smartwatcha Amazfit GTR 2. Interesująca jest historia oryginalnego zegarka. Został o wykonany przez firmę Jaeger, dzisiaj znaną i rozpoznawaną pod nazwą „Jaeger-LeCoultre”. Mało znanym faktem jest to, że w latach dwudziestych XX wieku, dzięki I wojnie światowej, LeCoultre & Cie, we współpracy z Edmondem Jaeger’em rozpoczęło produkcję liczników i wskaźników desek rozdzielczych w najbardziej prestiżowych samochodach tamtych czasów (np. Aston Martin, Bugatti). Wszystkie instalowane w samochodach instrumenty takie jak: wskaźnik, liczniki, w tym zegarki, były podpisywane marką „Jaeger”. Oryginalny chronograf Lang's Jaeger, instalowany na desce rozdzielczej samochodu, posiadał niezwykle rzadki cyfrowy licznik minut (małą tarczę u dołu cyferblatu zegarka) i był najprawdopodobniej stworzony dla samochodów Bugatti. Jeden z ekspertów od historycznych zegarów stwierdził, że ten model zegarka mógł być unikatowym prototypem.
Jak przystało na replikę przeznaczoną do smartwatcha, w moim projekcie zastosowałem aż trzy małe, wewnętrzne tarcze zegarkowe. Dolna pokazuje dni tygodnia, prawa kolejny dzień miesiąca, a lewa stan naładowania akumulatora w procentach. Czas pokazywany jest wyłącznie analogowo. Jest również sygnalizowany brak zasięgu bluetooth oraz włączony alarm. Mimo dokonanych zmian ta tarcza zegarkowa ma nadal niewątpliwie wygląd bardzo klasyczny i elegancki oraz zdecydowanie lepiej prezentuje się jako wgrana do smartwatcha niż na zaprezentowanej animacji.

The "VR Jaeger auto-chronograph" is a watch face modeled on the Swiss, unique and historic "Jaeger auto-chronograph", manufactured in 1930. It is a real "pearl" among the classic watch face design. This version of it was designed by me for the Amazfit GTR 2 smartwatch. The history of the original watch is interesting. The watch was made by the Jaeger company, today known and recognized as "Jaeger-LeCoultre". It is a little known fact that in the 1920s, thanks to World War I, LeCoultre & Cie, in cooperation with Edmond Jaeger, started the production of dashboard meters and indicators for the most prestigious cars of that time (e.g. Aston Martin, Bugatti). All the instruments installed in cars, such as the indicator, meters, including watches, were signed with the "Jaeger" brand. The original Lang's Jaeger chronograph, installed on the car's dashboard, had an extremely rare digital minute counter (a small dial at the bottom of the large dial) and was most likely made for Bugatti cars. One historical clock expert concluded that this watch model could be a unique prototype.
As befits a replica designed for a smartwatch, in my project I used three small internal watch faces. The lower one shows the days of the week, the right one shows the day of the month, and the left one shows the battery charge status in percent. Time is only shown in analog. The lack of bluetooth range is also signaled and the alarm is on. Despite the changes made, this watch face still undoubtedly has a very classic and elegant look and definitely looks better as loaded into the smartwatch than on the presented animation.
