Can't install watchface on Mi Band 5
Hello everyone, I've tried to install a custom watchface downloaded from this website on my new Mi Band 5 following the instructions from this post --> viewtopic.php?t=1498&sid=a5525c21a61d85 ... 7734e95d03 but there's no way. I've tried creating a new folder inside the 59 folder. I've also tried using a folder that was already created by a downloaded watchface (from the MiFit app), I've also tried using this created folder and renaming the downloaded .bin file to same name as the original .bin file that was already there, but everytime I went to the MiFit app to select this watchface, it don't shows on the app to select it.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance!

Stating the obvious... But have you tried either closing and reopening the app or rebooting your phone? Curiously, I can't install it now, but everything was normal yesterday, same phone, same version. Try using the Notify & Fitness app, it has a function to update watchfaces. You can just delete it later.
Go to MiFit app and then Store>Manager>View more page and there select an sincronize the orig wf, it would be fine.

When I copy the downloaded WF to the folder, on the MiFit app, the original WF I've downloaded previously just disappears, so I can't select it.synar wrote: 22 Jul 2020, 17:36Go to MiFit app and then Store>Manager>View more page and there select an sincronize the orig wf, it would be fine.

@Jaliex I'm using the Mi Fit app with the combination of MiBand4 app to install custom watch faces. I don't know if the same will work for mi band 5 but it's worth a try.

The first time I opened the Notify & Fitness app, it get stuck connecting, but I just killed the app, and after open it again, the mi band was connected, and then I just had to search for the WF .bin file and upload it to the band.JalieX wrote: 29 Jul 2020, 11:21I'm having the same problem. I have a Samsung S10(android) and I have the same problem.
I add the bin file to :
Android > data > com.xiaomi. hm.health > files > watch_skin_file > 59 > YOUR-WF-FOLDER
I reboot phone but mi band 5 doesn't see the custom watchface.
i tried with this one : https://amazfitwatchfaces.com/mi-band-5/view/175
Edit : it worked with "Notify & Fitness" app, thank you very much, this app look nice
edit2 : aren't we supposed to have 3 files for it to work ? .png ; .bin and one .xml ?
the watchface I downloaded only give the .bin file...

I download a watch face from the store, so that a folder with the BIN, PNG and XML files is created inside the '59' folder.Demky wrote: 12 Aug 2020, 19:21I add the bin file to :

I reboot phone but mi band 5 doesn't see the custom watchface.
Then, I replace the BIN inside the folder (keeping the same BIN file name).
You only need the BIN file to get the watch face, you can reuse the PNG and XML files from the watch face you are replacing.Demky wrote: 12 Aug 2020, 19:21Aren't we supposed to have 3 files for it to work ? .png ; .bin and one .xml ?
the watchface I downloaded only give the .bin file...
However, the PNG file will give you the preview on the phone app, and the XML file will give you the preview name on the phone app. If you don't replace them the watch face will look as if not replaced on the phone app but it will send the right file (BIN) to the band.
You can replace the PNG file easily enough, if the maker provides a static preview, or if you create it (from a screenshot, for example). The XML file should not be replaced, but you can edit it (I use WordPad on my PC), to find the name in code and replace it.
Here's a preview of the XML file content, with the name marked in red:
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8' standalone='yes' ?><watch_skin_info><info>{"O00000oO":"Desired name","O00000oo":0,"O0000O0o":102356,"O0000OOo":0,"O0000Oo":false}</info></watch_skin_info>
