Recent Mi Band 4 Firmware update messed up my watchface
Hi Everyone!
I've been using Rulle's Stardew Valley Watchface for a while now (https://amazfitwatchfaces.com/mi-band-4/view/7814), however after the recent Firmware update for the Mi Band 4 today, my Mi Band's watch face has gone crazy (https://imgur.com/a/IkkuRR5).
Has anyone experienced this problem before and know how to fix it? It appears that this is the only watch face with the problem, I've tried using a few others and they all work fine.
Thanks!

Hi friend ,
I think that the Mi band 4 firmware and resources that you have updated is from v93 to v96 and 1.0.9.48 to 1.0.9.66 . Am I right ??
Now I am coming to the main point , that is while updating your firmware it is clearly mentioned that " keep your band close to your phone " . So you might have closed the app permanently . This is the problem that happened to your watchface . It might have disappeared . After that there will be only the 3 coustom watchfaces left on your band .
So to get the watchface , you have to again synchronise that particular watchface .
The wrong problem that you mentioned in your thread is that you have written " that it only happens on that watchface " noooo you are wrong . I again tell you that wrong method of updating .
So I will tell you the method to fix this problem . This too also happened with me . ****You should update it properly without closing the app ( Mi fit )
So any problem facing with my this reply , please let me know . I am here to help you .
Thanks .

I updated the band properly, kept it close to the phone and all that.
I have tried synchronising that watchface and other watch faces multiple times back onto the band, and so far, that is the only watch face that does not synchronise properly, see the photo link in the first post.
This is why I am quite confused. I have updated the app and the band properly, and that watch face is the only face that displays incorrectly on my Mi Band. It looks as if the background of the watch face has been pasted on top of the watch face again.
Do you know of anything else I can do to fix this problem?
Thanks!

Hi, the WF must have been damaged during the updated (I am asuming it was the current WF at the time).
Try downloading the WF again from the website. I checked the code, and there wasn't anything strange that could give any trouble with an update (at least, nothing I could see).

And after that also , if it doesn't work properly . Then follow the given steps below -
Note **do everything at your own risk , I will not be responsible for any brick to your device **
1. First factory reset the band
2. Then unpair it from Mi fit app
3. Pair it again from Mi fit.
Then lastly , 4 . Try syncing the watchface again .
Try this method properly one by one . Then please tell me if it really worked or not
Thanks regards

Hi urieleugenio Cavoli,
I have tried downloading the watchface from the website and syncing it again. Does not seem to be working still.
This watch face was installed when I performed the update so it could have gotten corrupted, but I don't understand why syncing a new clean copy would not work still. Very strange. Do you know if the the watch faces are cached on the mi band? If they are I may really need to perform a factory reset.
Also, what does the factory reset do? Does it reset the band back to new condition? So I need to re-pair the band to my phone afterwards? Will my data currently in my account be lost?
Thanks for your help!

Yes, WFs are stored on the band, and if it's the same WF, the band may not rewrite the file.
You could try to 'flush out' the file by sending many WFs to the band, as the band can only store a few WFs.
Factory reset makes the band go back to original settings (alarms, DND, etc). I believe that won't necessarily unpair it.
Data on the MiFit app won't be lost, but it might mess up today's step count.

Nothing bad will happen to your band , the thing is that you have to pair it again with Mi fit app .hakpoid wrote: 06 Aug 2020, 14:45Hi @urieleugenio @Cavoli,

This factory reset as urieleugenio said it only makes wrong step count of today . This reset might help you .
Nothing will happen to your band .
If this doesn't help you , then I can show you a tutorial here in this thread for you about "how to do a factory reset ".
Thanks

I tried factory resetting the band, in the hopes that it would remove all the stored WFs, however the problem still persists.urieleugenio wrote: 06 Aug 2020, 14:51Yes, WFs are stored on the band, and if it's the same WF, the band may not rewrite the file.

I'll try the method of flushing out the band's WF memory. Hopefully it will work. Any idea how many watch faces it will take?

I performed the factory reset, but unfortunately it did not fix that watch face.
Such a strange problem, that it only happens to just this one watch face.
I will try urieleugenio's solution of flushing the watch faces, since that may work as well.
I'll write back with my findings. If it works, it will be able to help other people also experiencing this weird problem.
Thanks!
Ok it's your choice , if this also doesn't helps than please ask me , I am ready to help!!!!hakpoid wrote: 06 Aug 2020, 15:10Hi @Cavoli,Cavoli wrote: 06 Aug 2020, 15:03Nothing bad will happen to your band , the thing is that you have to pair it again with Mi fit app .hakpoid wrote: 06 Aug 2020, 14:45Hi @urieleugenio @Cavoli,

Hi Cavoli urieleugenio,
I was able to get the watch face working again! Thank you both very much!
I synced about 500kb of watch face data (about 4 watch faces) through my mi band before I synced the Stardew Valley watchface again.
It then suddenly synced properly and started working
Hopefully if someone ever has a messed up watch face like I had, they can find this thread and fix it themselves
Thank you both very much!
Enjoy your day/night!
