I noticed that the BIP supports subpixel rendering very nicely. If you take into consideration the color filter order of C-M-Y (or R-G-B), you can antialias your black details with appropriate colors to triple the horizontal resolution, making your details smoother and sharper.

Notice in the image at the left that the left edges are red- and yellow-fringed, while the right edges are blue- and cyan-fringed. The BIP display will take any color filters that are immediately next to a black pixel and make them black, "bleeding" into them to appear like the right image. This is just the way the display works. For instance, the cyan filter is on the right edge of a black pixel, and the yellow filter is on the left edge. Turn those on, and the black pixel gets a third wider on those edges. Use blue and red, and the pixel expands by two-thirds.
Likewise, if you want a tiny space between two black pixels, put a green pixel between them. If you want a sharp point above or below a black pixel, put a magenta pixel there.
