Creating watchfaces for Bip on a Mac?

Post by iMactouch »

Hi!

I can create the watchfaces for the Bip with the website watchface builder on my Mac, that is not the problem.
But the little program (AmazfitBipTools) to extract the files from the bin file and to create a bin file is only available for Windows.

Or does someone knows if something like this is also available for macOS?

I can use a VM for this but this is rather complicated work.

Maybe you can install wine to run AmazfitBipTools? That works fine with linux here.

I tried to install wine to run the Tools but I did not get it to work.
I thought getting an Application where I can drop .bin files or .json files to to their work.
But I only could start the exe and get an error message in a file which is shown in cd.exe also when you start the tools with no argument.

I never used wine before, so I have no experience with it.

AmazfitBipTools is written in C#, so you can try Mono instead of Wine.

I do this also on a Mac. I have a minimalistic WinXP virtual machine in VMware Fusion which I have halted with ervything open what is needed - so the startup time is only a few seconds.
Wine with installed Dot.Net sould work with a little bit of trial and error and you can build a standalone app when using WineBottler.

Let us hear if this works for you :-)
