Request for simple watchface for NFT

Post by moson »

Hello wonderful creators,
Can someone be kind enough to create a simple watchface that is suitable for us to use our own nft as a custom background (probably using Notify for Amazfit) for our 42mm GTR?

The idea is just something simple with
1. seconds going round the circumference of our watch
2. Hour and minutes probably something like a bar or dot around the circumference too
3. Optional would be Battery % and Date at the bottom or along the circumference too

Idea is to feature our favourite nft image in the middle, but still have indications along the circumference to tell the time, date, and maybe battery life (optional)

I am using the old GTR 42mm, but if other friends want these too, you can request here too.

Thank you to the Creators! ❤️

I don't mind to helpout. I only have no experience with NFT. I know it's something like pictures with a token so you know who the real owner is I believe? If you just got a custom background picture I can try to make something for you. I don't own an GTR42 but I own an GTR47. I always test on that watch and convert it back to GTR42 if all is ok.

Thank you, here's a sample of my nft i want to place. So you see, it actually fills up almost the entire space, thus leaving only the circumference, and maybe the sides for date and batt%
Spoiler

Most nft fills up the entire center, which leaves little space for text

I have attached a sample of my nft, but the post needs a moderator to approve (bcoz of attached image i guess)

Thus, the idea of my request, is for us to be able to add our own nft images (using the Notify for Amazfit app while adding custom watchface files), and it would hv the Hour, Minutes and Seconds as a bar indication or Coloured Dots, along the circumference of our watch - maybe in difference colours - so we know which indicator is hour, minute, and seconds, and maybe hour and miniute indicator would b slightly larger, so that we can still tell the time

For Date and Battery %, maybe it would be along the circumference or by the side too.

Thank you!
Hopefully my attached image post can be approved soon.

I do see a problem here. You want to replace nft pictures via notify for amazfit but you always have to compile a watchface. You do this in, for example the watchface editor of Sasha75cx for the GTR1 watches.
This will create a bin file for GTR42 that can be synched than by for example Notify for Amazfit to the watch. But to change the picture you have to use the editor replace a picture compile and upload again.

You have always have to resize the picture to say about 320x320 (resolution of gtr42 is 390x390) so you have some space around it to have watch info around it. see the picture I have placed from the editor .

But it looks you hoped it would be like that you just upload a picture through notify for amazfit. That is from my point of view impossible.
So I can make it for this picture. Possibly give you the uncompiled version so you can replace and compile in the sascha75cx editor if you want to replace a picture?

Other problem the picture is more like a painting. There is no transparancy around the object. So it's a square that has to be pasted in a round watch. Method is a ring that's always above the picture like this to solve this.

Can this work for you ? give it some thought.

Oh yes, the square NFT picture would usually be cropped into a circle when we use them for profile pictures in twitter, telegram or discords too.

btw, what is this Sasha75cx editor that you mentioned? I couldn't seem to find it with Google

*update, ok i found a thread about the editor here in this forum, but I'm on mac 😬

Also, with Notify for Amazfit, most of the time i could download .bin creations from Amazfitwatchface and then there is an option for me to replace their existing background and add my own background images (ie. My nft) and still use the design - its just that, i cannot find an existing one that have the Hour, Minute, Seconds along the circumference.

The closest i found were those with seconds go around the circumference, but Hour and minutes are either analog or digital ones that are centralised

Ok I have checked out Notify for Amazfit and now I understand you about replacing the picture. I didn't know that Notify for Amazfit could modify a bin file by injecting another background picture. This way indeed you don't need the editor.

I will create something and when done place the bin file here.

I run in a lot of small problems. Spoiled With GTR3 Pro with much memory and using flexible layers.

The biggest problem is most of the time the background is the part with the elements like cirlce with points etc. Now The background has to be replaced but the rest has to stay and also stay on top. so I had to trick some things.
Used a 1 pixel transparent to use time so the watch thinks there is digital time. Added there the ring background as a seperator that's stays on top of your original background.
I did not manage to get the date or battery in for now. Because I don't have layers like in the higher models. They would dissapear behind the black ring and memory would also give problems. you also need al litte to spare when replacing pictures. Every picture has a different size.

Hope you like it for now. I have tested it on my GTR47. Look perfectly fine.

Wow mate!
This is amazing! Just tried it on my 42mm and also tried with my other nft. Looks Great!

I'm just wondering 1 thing, would it be possible to do away with the black dial along the circumference?

I'll attach a photo of how it looks like on my 42mm in the next msg bcoz the msg probably needs an approval from mods due to image attachment

Thank you!

Yes that's possible. I have added the black dial so you could see the time more clearly. without it you have to make your background at least 390x390 and also your background would be under the hour/minute/second hands. If you background uses the same colors like this it will be hard to see the hour/minute or second hands on the display.
I will wait until your second picture and let met know what you want. I can always compile a version this way and you could always try things out yourself.

Oh, i was actually referring to the picture of my watch with your design, i thought my post will take some time to show, bcoz previously when i sent the first photo of my nft in this thread, the post needed to b approved by a mod

Anyways, i was just thinking how would your design look if there is no graphics of the dial. I probably got to resize and darken my nfts' background manually 🤔

Actually, now I'm inspired to try doing modifications myself, but i will need to find a PC or maybe PC Emulator for my Mac.

So, with the watchface software, i could add and remove layers, and add certain features like date, batt% from the app ya? Is it a GUI interface where i can drag and drop these elements and move them around with a mouse, or i need to key in coordinates to position them or key in numbers to resize the elements?

Anyway, i think I'm taking too much of your time, so mayb the last thing u could help me is to remove the black ring/dial and let me visualise how it will look. I'll try to learn how to add other elements myself😊

Once again, Thank you so much for your help! ❤️

If you would resize your nft background manually you could add all those elements on top through a GUI. You have to give in coordinates but you see a preview of the watchface. Also you have to add numbers. like 10 small png files from 0 to 9. size has to be determed based on the face your making. Everything must be png. so you could add battery and date. These require number png's.

Here is an example. Secondhand is a image with its coordinates.
