Опис
At its launch, the game received universal acclaim, with critics praising flowless narrative without interruptions, presentation and realistic gameplay, receiving more than fifty prizes of Game of the Year for computer. Its gameplay has influenced the design of first-person shooter games for years after its release, and is widely considered one of the greatest games of all time. [6] [7] IGN ranked Half-Life as the biggest all-time first-person shooter, stating that "when you look at the history of first-person shooter games, it all comes down very clearly in pre-Half-Life eras and post-Half-Life. "[8]
The game sold 8 million copies on November 16, 2004 and 9.3 million copies by December 2008. On July 14, 2006, the Half-Life franchise as a whole sold more than 20 million units [ 10] Half-Life was followed by the 2004 Half-Life 2 sequel, which also received universal critical acclaim.
