What to pick between GTR, Stratos 3 and Honor Magic Watch 2

Hi all, hoping you all are safe in these hard times (Italian guy here) I'm asking for a friend of mine, who leans more towards training and sport features. Which one of these watches could be the best for him (the basic needs are that it doesn't scratch easily, good GPS accuracy, scheduled DND)? I've read that amazfit watches had some issues GPS-wise, is it still the case or have they improved with updates? Thank you, have a nice day inside!

Its hard to answer each watch has his pro's and cons. And i can image that there arent many people who can compare these devices beceause they one have a GTR, Stratos or Honor Magic.

I own a GTR and can tell you my opinion about this device. Keep in mind that this GTR is already almost a year old so maybe newer and better devices will come.

Pro's GTR:

- Amazing HD screen
- Long battery time ( first wear a few days but after 2 or 3 charges the battery is at full strenght and could last even langer that 2 weeks.
- looks casual and you can switch between many 22mm straps wich makes it a pretty watch in normal life
- Lots of choice of watchfaces
- Overal good functions and useable in water or swimming.
- good price quality.
- Does not scratch easy. I use it 24/7 And still no scratch (I bumped against walls, felt it etc.) Its pretty strong.
- Sceduled DND works perfectly on the watch. It knows when your a sleep and goes in to dnd mode. Or you can fill in the times of should go in DND.

Cons:

- GPS could have some problems, i dont use it but heard some complaints about it. Some claims updates have fix it but cant be sure..
- the processor isnt very quick for my demands, i like to built faces but learned the watch isnt as fast like the samsung or original wear OS watches. Neither are your listed watches by the way.

Verdict:

GTR is a good model to test your needs. It is not a real smartwatch but a mix to a fitness tracker and smartwatch. Of your friend wants perfect results a GTR, Honor or Stratos isnt the best choice. Stronger watches are those of polar/garmin etc, but they lack at beauty and designs.. Hard to choose XD But my top 3 for a sports fan:

Stratos 3 (avarage looks good sports tracking 7 day batery life)
Honor magic 2 (Simple look good sport tracking 7 day battery)
GTR (Good looking, avarage sport tracking 24 day battery)

I own a GTR and a Stratos 3.... And let's say from the begining.... Honor Magic Watch 2 is behind^^
& I will explain why^^



From the start you see How I use them :
The GTR for every day, The Stratos for Sport.


GTR ON THE LEFT // STRATOS ON THE RIGHT.
Wife on the Left // Me on the Right.

Yes we are confined home because of Coronavirus.... But We can go out for 1 hour per day for Sport activities [ In Family // Alone ] in a radius of 1 KM from home. 1 meter from each other // 3 Persons from the same House, Id Card, You must have your "Attestation derogatoire for each "Human" with the sport activity check and the hour of Start and your adress on it"

I work as a butcher.... 9h30 effective time of work everyday.... So for us that do "Vital activities" this "go out for decompress" is like a ray of light.

Pro's GTR :

- Oled Screen, Perfect Black, Good on Sunlight [ It can Be better, It's not a transflex screen ] Vibrant color.
- An everyday watch with a sport mode for casual Sport activities
- 22mm strap easy to find // Tachy crown -> decent price
- Scheduled DND
- WATCHFACES!!!!! A ton of watchfaces... use all the watchfaces from here, create easily your own... dream of a face ? Just Create^^
- 24 days Battery life
- Strava

Cons :

GPS fix in one minute [ It feels eternal ] and when it's fixed It's really nice for sport casual.... It's not a TOMTOM GPS come on^^
Internal memory : Let's say nothing, nada, Queutchi, Wallou^^
- Smartphone free when doing sport.... but.... no music :crying:

Pro's Stratos :

- Sport Watch for advanced user [ It is made for this and only for this ]
- SPORTS MODE
- HR belts
- Smartphone Free when doing sport [ All you need is the watch, a bluetooth headset for music and go ]
- Transflex screen [ More sun & enlighten your environment is, More visible the screen will be, No sun, no problem, feel the magic of the Backlight ]
- GPS : A 10 sec GPS FIX running [ You feel bad to have a Honor magic watch // GTR ]
- Always on Screen [ It's not the AOD with a simple face, It's your current face ]
- Internal Memory : Music.... Yeah Music, Bluetooth headphone and RUN!!!!
- Sheduled DND
- Bluetooth and Wifi connection
- Some APK
- APK Watchface [ If you master Android Studio you can design Face in APK format.... I don't master this tool so it's drive me crazy to Know that I can make all the face I made for the GTR for the stratos.... but cannot because I haven't the "Knowledge" to achieve this ]

Cons :

- 5 Days / 6 Days battery life [ It's not a problem but when you already have a Mi band 4 or A GTR.... ]
- Custom analogic face are not as good as digital face with only number and letter ]
-> They are nice on active mode [ Full resolution ] and when the watch goes to sleep mode the face is in degraded mode [ so you lose detail ]
- Widget for custom face [ They look not good as I wanted and you can use only the one provided by Huami ]
- It's a Sport Watch.... The design is Sport, The face are Sport... Yeah Sport.....


And what about the Honor Magic watch 2 ?
It's not Huawei.... it's Honor it's different for me..... but The Biggest biggest biggest biggest Biggest problem ever :
