Amazfit Watch faces

I just did a quick calculation, and you are the genius. Thanks for your help

I'm suspecting this is a dumb question. On the default watch face, what does the dial around the steps count indicate? I can't seem to correlate it with any other readings on the watch (e.g. steps, calories, etc.). Thanks in advance
