Can't load in watchfacd trex3
Inviato: 13 giu 2025, 15:37
I need help, I can't load in new watchfacd in my watch. Just saw the watchfacd in grey each time install from different watchface. May know why?
I guess I don't like staring at ads for minutes on end just to install a watchface.Khenic ha scritto: 06 lug 2025, 15:02QR code install is the easiest, takes 2 seconds.
Why would you do it the hard way? Must be because you're using Notify.![]()
Funny how scanning a QR code for a few seconds â even with a short ad â is âtoo troublesome,â but manually downloading ZIPs, clearing Zepp cache, uninstalling, reinstalling, and using another app somehow isnât
Well, when you put it that way. lol.GIK-Team ha scritto: 06 lug 2025, 20:51Funny how scanning a QR code for a few seconds â even with a short ad â is âtoo troublesome,â but manually downloading ZIPs, clearing Zepp cache, uninstalling, reinstalling, and using another app somehow isnât
To each their own, but QR is still by far the simplest method.
Yeah, that does explain it a bit better. But if the our app wasnât working properly, we couldâve helped â assuming we knew there was a problem! If you ever feel like giving it another go, just let us know what went wrong. Otherwise â fair enough, enjoy the roundabout routetaw_bip ha scritto: 06 lug 2025, 21:10Well, when you put it that way. lol.GIK-Team ha scritto: 06 lug 2025, 20:51Funny how scanning a QR code for a few seconds â even with a short ad â is âtoo troublesome,â but manually downloading ZIPs, clearing Zepp cache, uninstalling, reinstalling, and using another app somehow isnâttaw_bip ha scritto: 06 lug 2025, 20:20

I think I'd been having problems with the Android app not working properly so I've been doing the roundabout way.
The problem is that "QR List" is outdated and no longer supported. You need to install the latest QR Faces app on your watch.taw_bip ha scritto: 06 lug 2025, 21:51OK, so when I try to install a GTR 4 watchface onto my Active 2 with Amazfaces. I press the down arrow icon and sit through the Last War ad and it makes me want to end my life. Then nothing happens. So I press on the "Install watch face" button and it gives a long page of troubleshooting tips.
So then I select "Show QR code on watch" and watch another terrible ad. But it's not clear how to scan the code from the Zepp app. I've gotten the QR List app on my watch. Then ... what?
So that's why I just download the .zip files and install them with Notify.
What is "QR Faces" and where do I find it? Is it Android or a Zepp app? I tried scanning the QR code in the Zepp app but nothing happens.GIK-Team ha scritto: 07 lug 2025, 07:51The problem is that "QR List" is outdated and no longer supported. Hereâs the correct step-by-step guide for installing via QR:
1. Enable Developer Mode in Zepp:
Open the Zepp app
Go to Profile > Settings > About
ap the Zepp logo multiple times until Developer Mode is activated
2. Scan the QR code:
Open the QR scanner from the Zepp app itself
Scan the QR Iâll send you below![]()
Spoiler
3. (Optional) Install manually if scanning fails:
Click here to download the file
In the Zepp Developer Mode, choose Install File and pick the one you downloaded
Letâs try it this way â it really is the easiest method once set up. If anything still doesnât work, Iâm here to help.
When you press âInstall watch face via QRâ in AmazFaces (android/ios app), hereâs what should happen:taw_bip ha scritto: 07 lug 2025, 12:05What is "QR Faces" and where do I find it? Is it Android or a Zepp app? I tried scanning the QR code in the Zepp app but nothing happens.
I don't have an "Install File" option from Developer mode unless I'm missing it somehow. I press the + sign and have Scan, Bridge, Device Information and js log level.
Lastly, I went into Amazfaces and tried the manual install for downloaded files. When I select the watchface and hit "Install watch face" it hangs on "Start connecting" then gives the troubleshooting page.
The issue here is that youâre mixing up two different installation methods. The âConnected devicesâ section and Bluetooth sync are not relevant when youâre using the QR method â thatâs an entirely different setup.taw_bip ha scritto: 07 lug 2025, 14:46Developer mode is enabled. I see QR Faces is on my watch although it asks for a pin which I have no idea about.
I'm not having any luck. When I go to "Connected devices" Amazfaces doesn't see my watch and goes to a troubleshooting page. The Zepp app sees my watch. It's connected on Bluetooth. I'm not sure why Amazfaces doesn't see it.
I wiped the Amazfaces storage (app/cache) and logged in again but no luck. I wiped the Zepp storage and tried Amazfaces again, no luck.
The Notify developer said the newer Zepp models don't allow multiple apps to connect to watches, which is why I've resorted to using the method where I wipe the Zepp app/cache storage.
The one wrinkle with the Notify app is you need to enter the Xiaomi pairing key for it to connect to the watch. I just tried Notify and it allowed me to install a couple watchfaces.

Well, part of the issue is the lack of a streamlined approach, gaps in the documentation process and outdated/inaccurate information in the documentation. And I'm familiar with the passive aggressive "turn the tables" approach to demean users when they can't follow a convoluted process.GIK-Team ha scritto: 07 lug 2025, 15:40The issue here is that youâre mixing up two different installation methods. Hereâs what you need to do now (and yes, itâs all explained in the âFirst Time Setting Up?â link you seem to be skipping):
1. Open AmazFaces and click âInstall using QRâ on any watch face.
2. When prompted select the version (if available), watch the ad.
3. Youâll see a PIN displayed on that screen â thatâs the one you need.
4. On your watch, open QR Faces and enter that same PIN.
5. Thatâs it! The app will now generate a permanent QR code that you can scan with the Zepp app to install faces in the future.
6. Every time you try to install a new watch face via QR, the code will update on our servers and point to the latest face.
Everything is shown clearly in the video tutorial linked in the app. If you follow these steps without jumping ahead or mixing methods, youâll have it working in seconds. Let me know if youâre stuck at a specific step.
Understand your frustration â but everything you mentioned (including the need for a second screen to scan the QR code) is clearly documented and shown in the installation guide and video. The issue isnât gaps in the process â itâs that it wasnât followed.taw_bip ha scritto: 07 lug 2025, 21:34Well, part of the issue is the lack of a streamlined approach and the gaps in the documentation process. You neglect to mention the part where you can't scan in the QR code unless you've got a second screen to load it.
If it takes someone a couple days and multiple message exchanges to get an application working, then just maybe some refinement from the developer is in order.
I'm now on Day 2 of the "easy" method. I just followed the video instructions and it's not working. And the helpful message from the app tells me to use the "QR List" app from the Zepp store. No need for an update there. And the Zepp app doesn't let me load a QR file from a file. No need to update the instructions there either.GIK-Team ha scritto: 07 lug 2025, 21:43Understand your frustration â but everything you mentioned (including the need for a second screen to scan the QR code) is clearly documented and shown in the installation guide and video. Weâre aware this method isnât ideal, but unfortunately itâs the only way currently possible due to restrictions from the manufacturer. We do our best to make it as simple and documented as we can â and we always help when users genuinely try to follow the steps. If you have suggestions to improve it, weâre all ears. But blaming the method while ignoring the provided instructions doesnât really help anyone.
Just to clarify â so after all that, you still werenât able to install any watch face using the QR method?taw_bip ha scritto: 07 lug 2025, 21:48I'm now on Day 2 of the "easy" method. Yep, I guess I'll stick with the method that actually works.
Weâre genuinely sorry you feel that way â that was never our intention. We tried to guide you step by step through a setup that works for thousands of users, and we answered every question you asked, including repeating steps and clarifying unclear parts.taw_bip ha scritto: 08 lug 2025, 11:39You'll probably see I'm someone who frequently comments to help other people on this board. But being treated like an idiot who didn't have the brain power to follow this very simple setup process just doesn't sit well with me for some reason, so I'm done with this thread.
