Is it possible to code a mode switch in a watchface?

I'm wondering if it's possible to have code in a watchface to switch the background/characters from one light version for daytime viewing to one better suited for night time viewing to keep the brightness down.

For example, in the watchface link below, I would like to make a night version (dark background with grey characters) that I could just switch to with a tap. I realize it's probably easier to have to separate watchfaces and switch that way, but I like the idea of a more elegant approach. An even nicer feature would be an automated switch so at 10 p.m. the watchface is dark mode and at 6 a.m. it automatically goes to the lght version.

I'm just wondering if it's possible. I have a T-Rex 2 and maybe this is something a watch with the newer Zepp OS can do?

Yes, it is possible. You can activate and deactivate the visibility of individual elements at set times or during sunrise and sunset. But you would actually have to make two dials and turn one of them off under a tedious condition.
