Is it not possible to create a face with message notification on it?

Folks,
Am I correct in thinking there is no way to have a sign/symbol on the watchface to show that there are waiting notifications ?
Coming from having Garmin Instinct which is more primitive in some ways eg black and white screen, but its always on and you can set to show if you have messages at a glance (see pic), cant see how this is done with trex pro and dont want to always swipe notification to see if Ive missed something?
