Auto brightness problems

Hello all,
I am countering some problems with the auto brightness function.
When it's pitch black, lets say at night.
I was hoping the brightness would go down to the max but it locks at almost 1/3 of the slider so it's very bright in the dark.
Also I have to restart the device every 4 days because the auto brightness stopped working at all.
Is this a firmware problem or is it my Titanium GTR 47mm?
I am not using a screen protector yet and I did gave some feedback on the amazfit app but not getting any response.
Is there anyone else with the same issues?
Tnx in advanced.

I ran into the same problem with auto brightness not working for a few times. But I haven't restarted the watch in this case. After a while it started working again for itself.
I have the Titanium GTR 47mm too (for about 2 weeks now), but I don't think it's a problem with exactly this version of the GTR. I think it's a firmware problem. Let's hope it gets fixed with the next update.

Djinn i send mine back just to make sure because I was still able to return it and had to restart the watch every time it had been to its brightest.
I'll let you know if it's the watch or firmware as soon as I have the new watch.
I hope upcoming Tuesday or Wednesday.

@Evilmind_04 Hi^^ No problem with my GTR 47mm Titanium bought in december 2019 on Amazon Italia [ 134€10 ]
Firmware : 1.3.56 now
The only problem I had with it, last month it refused to sync with the Amazfit App on Galaxy note 10+ after firmware update of the phone. ( Uninstall the app, reinstall it, restart both device and it was ok )
After reading your first message, I put my watch in the dark and put a bright light on it, go outside, put it in the dark, normal light inside the house, outside on shadows and finally direct sun... the auto brightness function do its job like it should do.
The main problem when I bought mine, the watch send on several comments were with dead battery... and of course free replacement of the watch because of this problem.
Since December I restarted the watch 5 times only... But I change really often the face .

Yes
What seems to trigger it is exposure to bright ambient light. If the screen is on and I expose the watch to bright light (direct sun or bedstand light at night) the brightness goes to full as expected, but will not reduce when the ambient light reduces. The brightness setting confirms the brightness 'is stuck' at a high level on Auto. Only a reboot of the watch fixes it, until the next time it happens. I tried it both with and without a screen protector - no difference.
I have reported this on Reddit and XDA too (as above) but can't post links here. Others have responded they experience this too. Seems reproducible.

Thanks for the replies Lordalpine , Wibbly and Djinn,
This gives me a clear look on how to judge the new watch.
Took a little longer but have one, it is a stainless steel instead of the titanium because it would take much longer to recieve a titanium one.
I will let you know if this one is different.
